Manitou Incline Hike Training
Join us this summer for our church hikes! We will be doing the Manitou Incline in August and then again in September. If you want to do the incline, you need to train for it, there’s no faking it, it is tough 🙂
Our goal is to be able to make the Incline hike all the way to the top by the end of the summer and we want to meet up at the top and pray together as a church.
HOW MANY STEPS ARE THERE ON MANITOU INCLINE?
Oh, just 2,744 steps – but who’s counting?
This is considered an extreme trail and is an advanced hike! The Manitou Incline gains nearly 2,000 feet of elevation over less than 1 mile. It’s not for the faint of heart, but people from all walks (or climbs) of life have successfully conquered it. It is, perhaps, the most unique and challenging trail in the country, attracting runners, military, Olympic athletes, and hiking enthusiasts from around the world. More than anything, the Manitou Incline is famous for dishing out a tough workout.
Here is the training schedule:
Every Wednesday, now through Incline dates:
6:00 PM, meeting there!
• Westminster Rec Center Stairs.
10455 Sheridan Boulevard, Westminster, CO 80020
Saturday September 22nd:
7:00 AM, meeting there!
• Manitou Incline
The Incline, Cascade, CO 80809
The drive to Manitou Springs is a 2hr drive, so make sure to leave by 5am when you go.
If you get there too late, the hike will be in the blazing sun and it will be twice as difficult. DON’T BE LATE 🙂
